Important notice for customers with a Wassenburg WD440 MSS endoscope washer disinfector used in combination with Tristel disinfectant who do not have a service contract with Wassenburg Ltd.

Please see attached copy of Field Safety Notice 27.04.2012

We have recently been advised of an incident where the cylinder filled only with the base solution and, on further investigation, found that the machine which is not serviced by Wassenburg, did not have the new type probe fitted. It is important; in order to prevent patient risk due to incorrectly decontaminated/processed scopes, that the following points are adhered to:

  • Engineers must be accredited/trained
  • OEM service kits/OEM replacement parts must be used and these service kits/replacement parts must be the correct version.
  • Third-party services: important statement

It has come to our attention that some UK companies are claiming that they are now qualified to test, service and maintain our products.

Please note that Wassenburg has not authorised any third-party provider nor have we trained any other equipment company in the use, testing, servicing, maintenance and validation of our machines.

Please be aware that allowing access to our machines and systems by a third-party provider may invalidate any warranties held for those machines and may cause irreparable damage. There are also potential implications for patient safety.

If you are approached by any company other than ourselves claiming to be qualified to work with Wassenburg machines, be assured that they are not. Please report any such approaches or claims directly to us. Thank you for your co-operation and support in this matter.
